Synopsis:

This is the story of Moth Lake, a small town that hides a terrible secret behind its peaceful facade. Only a group of teenagers with difficult lives can reveal what has been hidden for generations.

Mysterious events intensify on the eve of a solar eclipse, and our young friends embark on a journey into the shadows and their own souls.

What to expect from this game:

  • 2.5D pixel art (Frame to frame animations, reminiscent of the '90s)
  • Simple controls (Supporting touch screen, mouse, keyboard, and controllers)
  • Unconventional puzzles (Free walkthrough available if needed!)
  • Stealth-action
  • Choices that impact character relationships and the overall experience (Just like in real life, choices can make a difference)
  • Thrills, suspense, and moments of horror (Not a survival game, but can be creepy or scary at times)
  • Humor and strong language (Remember, the characters are teenagers)
  • An experience that may even move you to tears (I'm not crying, I just got a pixel in my eye!)
  • 6 different endings
  • An original, suggestive, and exciting soundtrack

In detail:

Moth Lake is a story-driven experience with over 20k words of textual content and more than 300 unique scenes.

The script takes you on a journey through mystery, horror, and the depths of the characters' hearts. It explores dark themes while also incorporating nonsensical jokes and eccentric conversations.

The main characters navigate a 2.5D world, interacting with various hotspots and NPCs. They must solve a variety of puzzles by manipulating objects and performing specific actions.

The artwork features modern pixel art with a wide color palette and detailed frame-to-frame animations. The scenarios employ modern lighting and shading techniques, utilizing particle effects and parallax for a simulated 3D environment.

The game includes 6 main characters and over 50 NPCs, each with their own unique appearance and personality. You assume control of 7 characters throughout the main story and more in additional chapters. The characters' eyes move, facial expressions change, and they exhibit distinctive behaviors.

As the story progresses, the player must make choices that affect the characters' moods and sometimes even the plot. Characters in a good mood display constant smiles, perform humorous idle animations, and assist one another. Conversely, characters in a bad mood exhibit angry expressions, insult their friends, and demonstrate edgy and selfish behavior. The overall mood can unlock hidden scenes, enticing players to replay the game to discover these subtle details.

Most of the time, you control a character surrounded by their friends, each possessing specific skills necessary for solving puzzles. Some puzzles can be solved by an individual character, while others require the entire squad's cooperation.

This game aims to provide psychological horror vibes. Keep in mind that it may not be suitable for everyone due to disturbing scenes, moments of anxiety, and extreme sadness.

The characters are constantly forced to confront their difficult pasts and navigate their frightening present. They must hide, make challenging decisions, and sometimes fight for their lives. However, your choices can lead to the best possible ending, and if you fail, you can always try again.
